Online Games Kids LoveThese are just a few of the online games we love. Check back, new links are added regularly. Please Contact Us with your favorite links to online games and if they pass our rigorous testing process (grin), we will add it in the next update. ABC's Animated Alphabet from Starfall.com. This program has capital and lowercase letters and a very short animation for each letter. Click the sparkley green button with the finger pointing at it to move on. You can't miss it! Bees and Honey Some of my favorite online games for kids. Soothing music. Choose "Bees" to develop basic mouse skills. All you have to do is touch a bee with the pointer and he will fly on. "Touch" ten bees and you will be congratulated as a wonderful bee catcher! Choose "Flowers" to work on clicking skills. Click on ten flowers and you're a winner! Choose "Honey" and you will click and drag bees to flowers so they can pollinate and make honey. None of these games have a time limit and directions are spoken clearly as well a written. Caillou Activities from PBS Kids If you love Caillou, you will love this link. Here are some of the activities you can choose from: Dress Caillou, Find Gilbert, Follow the Stars, Magic Keyboard, Matching Game, Memory Game, Paint Activity, Puzzle Activity or Spell with Caillou. Deliver the Mail Sound must be on for this game. The voice will state a number and then a hand "delivers" the mail to the door with the corresponding number. Once you have delivered that number, move on to the next one by clicking on the orange arrow at the bottom right hand side of the screen. Earth Day is Every Day Or maybe it's called Every Day is Earth Day. Either way, this is another great game from Starfall. Click on a word and you will hear it pronounced. Sort the recycling and see the animals return to the forest while improving your click and drag mouse skills. Hear a song to the tune of "Momma's Little Baby Love Shortnin' Bread" about how our Earth needs cleaning now. When the story is finished, you can rate if you liked it (happy face), kind of liked it (straight mouth face) or did not like it (frowny face). Earth Day Tic-Tac-Toe A little bit lame with the gas masks and all, but if you need an environmental-ish game, here you go. Learn to Read Level-A readers on Starfall.com Mouserobics This is more of a tutorial for learning to use a mouse, but it is great to have on hand for reference in teaching a child about a mouse. Some of us have been using computers for so long that we may forget some of the more basic instructions. Train Numbers Builds mouse skills (click and drag) and numbers. What Number Comes Next? Children click on the number that comes next. You must click on the green arrow at the bottom of the screen to move to the next question; otherwise you will be wondering what you should do next. Who Am I? Personalize this "story" by answering questions about yourself. My hair is like this, my hair is this color, my eyes are shaped like, etc. Starfall did a great job on this game, as it embraces the diversity that so many other online games overlook. Thank you, Starfall for skin tones, and various hair textures and eye shapes! After building your "me," move on to About My... Body, Bathroom, Kitchen, Livingroom and "What is my Pet?" |
